LGS

10th level recruitment, statewide Company Board stream

Job profile

What this role actually involves

This profile covers the Last Grade Servant stream in government-owned companies, boards, and corporations. Although classified as an entry-level last-grade cadre, it is heavily contested by advanced graduates because, unlike regular department-specific LGS posts, the Company Board stream has no upper educational ceiling: the minimum criterion is a pass in Class 7, but graduates and postgraduates actively apply, which drives up cut-off marks.

Postings are distributed across premium state-owned entities: Kerala State Electricity Board, Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, Kerala Water Authority, Kerala State Financial Enterprises, Kerala State Beverages Corporation, Keltron, and various state agro-industrial boards. Duties center on corporate clerical assistance and facility maintenance: moving files, dispatch logs, office attending, security and gatekeeper assignments, store logs, or laboratory and field assistance in specialized units.

Scale of pay is set by the specific statutory guidelines of the concerned company, corporation, or board, generally aligned with the base state scale of ₹23,000 to ₹50,200, though premium corporations such as KSFE or BEVCO carry distinct allowance and bonus structures. Gross starting salary typically ranges between ₹28,000 to ₹34,000 per month depending on the board.

Unlike regular LDC or LGS, which generate district-wise rank lists, the Company Board selection operates as a statewide, centralized rank list: candidates can be posted anywhere in Kerala based on corporate vacancies.
